Dr. Johnson and Dr. Putman are excited to plant their roots in Springfield and look forward to growing relationships with their patients and the community.
Dr. William Putman
Dr William Putman, a Springfield native, attended Sacred Heart-Griffin High School. He graduated with a BA from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, in 2013 and from Creighton School of Dentistry with a DDS in 2017.
Dr Putman established a love for giving back at an early age and as a dental student volunteered at One World Clinic and other missions for those unable to afford dental care. After dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency at University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he treated patients at high risk for medical complications. Following his residency, Dr Putman worked as an associate dentist in Springfield from 2018 – 2020, and in rural Wisconsin from 2020 to early 2022.
In April 2022, Dr Putman and Dr Johnson’s dream of opening a practice together became reality when they took over from Dr Robert Burris. Dr Burris built a reputation for compassionate care and skilled treatment and both Dr’s Putman and Johnson are excited to carry on that legacy.
Dr Putman understands that dental visits can be stressful and strives to put patients at ease. Highly trained and experienced in surgical procedures and general dentistry, he is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, Illinois Dental Association, GV Black Dental Society and is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
When he’s not at the office, Dr Putman enjoys golf, working on the family farm, hunting, fishing, playing with his black lab, Dakota, and following Creighton basketball. Dr Putman and Dr Taylor Johnson are looking forward to their upcoming wedding in fall of 2022.
